Our experience with Salt of the Earth Midwifery was nothing short of life-changing. For our first birth, we initially planned for a hospital delivery, but in the final month of pregnancy, we had a free consultation with Korina and Amy. From that very first meeting, the difference in care was undeniable—they made us feel supported, heard, and appreciated in a way we hadn’t experienced before. That same day, we switched to Salt of the Earth Midwifery, and it was the best decision we could have made.

 

Korina and Amy’s care is centered on empowering parents by educating them about all outcomes and ensuring every decision feels comfortable and fully informed. During labor, they were incredibly present in a way that made all the difference. Amy was right by my side, handing me food, water, and anything else I needed, while Korina supported me with affirming words, guided breathing, and hip squeezes that gave me the confidence to keep going. Their calm and loving presence made me feel like I could do this, and their support was something I will never forget.

 

Our second birth, while equally meaningful, came with its share of challenges. We discovered early on that we were having twins, but we tragically lost one of the babies during the pregnancy. We also faced bleeding and a Velamentous Cord Insertion (VCI), which added to the complexity. Through every twist and turn, Korina and Amy were a constant source of strength, reassurance, and knowledge. They guided us with love and compassion, helping us navigate every challenge with confidence and security in our birth plan.

 

One of the greatest blessings was having them come to our home for appointments, which made the process so much easier. They even brought toys for our older kid during visits to keep him entertained and made me feel so cherished with thoughtful touches like foot massages with essential oils. Their genuine care extended far beyond medical expertise—they spoke life into me and nurtured me emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Their love, wisdom, and unwavering support created not just two unforgettable birth experiences but also a deep bond we’ll always treasure. You can tell that Korina and Amy pour their heart and energy into this practice—it’s not just a job to them.
